Our Story
Mimar Design is a firm of consultants specializing in planning, designing, and executing architectural structures with 16 years of experience.
The Company has carried out many different projects with senior architects and engineers, positioning MIMAR DESIGN as an expert in various fields.
Since 1994 the creation of the organization, to the present day, MIMAR DESIGN has participated in the drafting and execution of an increasing number of projects the Company, based in Doha, has developed a significant number of services at both a national and international level in collaboration with our partners.

tARIQ aGHA
Tariq Nazem Agha founded Mimar Design in 1994 and is both
owner and General Manager.
His architectural degree was taken at Al- Azhar
University in Cairo, immediately followed by service with the Ministry of
Public Works Doha as a Project Architect then Project Manager. At the same
time, his dream of opening his private practice was realized, initially
employing a draftsman and assistant architect. In time structural engineers
were employed and Ministry Classification in both Architectural and Structural
was obtained. Tariq Agha is a 'hands-on' architect and every project receives
his personal input and influence to ensure the upholding of Mimar Design's
reputation for careful design and practical qualities.
cOLIN wEBSTER
Colin Webster took a Diploma in Architecture in 1963 at Dundee, U.K. with RIBA and RIAS qualifications shortly after. Experience initially was in a large private Edinburgh practice in their hospitals section followed by a post in 1970 as Depute Country Architect, West Lothian, having technical and administrative control of projects, then in 1975 a post as Principal Architect for Edinburgh City council. In 1982, he joined the Qatar Ministry of Public Works, Building Division. With a variety of work, particularly schools, industrial buildings, and the Doha Golf Course Buildings. Mimar Design involved initial work on Health Centers and Administration Buildings, a time as Project Manager on the Northen Area Hospital Project followed by large Warehouses and Accommodation Projects.
mATHER mOOTASSEM
Maher Mootassem, as Senior Structural Engineer, helped Tariq Agha form Mimar Design at outset. His creative skills as a Structural Designer played an early part in Mimar Design trademark's success. He has maintained a 'satellite office' at the Landmark Mall and Retail Complex as Project Manager, Construction Manager, and even Developer on behalf of the Client. The main complex has seen a complete re-fit with many modifications, and adjoining land has been acquired for additional projects. At present, his presence at 'Landmark' is still fully required, but regular visits to the main Mimar Design office ensure his continued involvement. His particular experience is made readily available when required.
