Architectural Design Consultancy
Architectural Design as practiced by Mimar Design is a comprehensive Service. It begins with an analysis of the client’s needs together with a study of his preferred lifestyle in the case of a domestic project or else the commercial or industrial processes which would be housed in the proposed office or industry. In depth study and comprehension by the architect is required in order to satisfy the client’s critical needs in medical and education work. This objective continues throughout the technical design process which is the synthesis of the client’s needs in concrete, stone and glass.
Structural Design
Mimar Design employ experienced Structural Designers as part of the design or supervision team. The Structural engineer will liase with the architect right from the Concept Stage in order to propose the best structural solutions. The Structural Engineer will then propose all vertical and structural components and will also incorporate the services engineer’s requirements in accordance with the final solution. While the architect acts as the chairman of fellow team members, it must be stressed that the structural engineer’s requirements must always be accommodated for the building’s safety and integrity.
Master Planning
Mimar Design is currently displaying to Clients that a Master Plan concept is well within their grasp. Apartment designs are complimented by, for instance, a clubhouse, gymnasium, children’s play area, swimming pool and quiet lounge facilities all controlled by appropriate landscaping to create an integrated yet peaceful environment. Also a large Commercial /Industrial complex is under the Master Plan stage of arranging the often conflicting requirements of residences, leisure space, parking, service and petrol facilities, offices and large volume stores and workshops all requiring definitive space and zones but with the necessary linkage to ensure maximum return of land use.
Interior Design Consultancy
Mimar Design’s Associate office of Midmak Design, Beirut, provides an independent or related service. Midmak Design have carried out Interiors in collaboration with Mimar Design for commercial Tower s, Villas and Offices with several future projects in the pipeline. Apart from being a talented service in their own right providing alternatives for classical, traditional, and modern concepts Midmak Design when linked with Mimar Design in a project can add the advantage of contract coordination thus adhering to the Contractor’s Program. This is to the ultimate considerable benefit of the Client.
Landscape Design
Mimar Design are providing Landscape Design for their new Master Plan Projects and have already incorporated Landscape work in Al- Nlasr Apartments and the forthcoming VIP Villa at West Bay Lagoon. Landscape Design Service will be further strengthened with our associate FunKtion in Dubai who specialize in Architectural and Landscape work and potentially, also, Met Workshop of London who are well experienced in Urban Design, taking landscaping to greater levels.
Construction Management
Construction Management is implicit in Mimar Design’s handling of Supervision Services in the Post Contract award phase of a project. Both Tariq Agha and Colin Webster have had considerable roles as Project Managers for Health related work in collaboration with the Hamad Hospital Engineering Department and also in a multi storey towers project at the Pearl, Qatar. Construction Management as a direct application within overall Project Management may be provided by Mimar Design to the Client’s specific requirements. Constant involvement with control over Contractors Construction Programs and Progress charts makes for experienced handling of Construction Management.
Quantity Surveying
Mirnar Design recommends Quantity Surveying (Q.S.) Services be carried on all their projects – thus ensuring proper financial and contractual control. The QS Services would include Feasibility Studies, Life Cycle Costing, Budget Estimates, Bills of Quantities, Contract Documentation, Contract Procurement Interim Payments to Contractors, Final Accounts and Arbitration and Adjudication. For Small projects the QS would be carried out in-house by Mimar Design. For the large Projects Mimar would be carried out by an independent Q.S. Consultancy. Mirnar Design would recommend David Adamson and Partners Overseas (DAPO) for this work as they are fully established in Qatar and they are locally registered as Grade A firm of Quantity Surveyor. In addition Mimar Design have worked successfully with them on many major projects.
